Living Can Kill You

CANOE at six; AWOL show

CANOE had its sixth anniversary on March 4, and unlike past years, there was no big mention of it on the site. In fact, go to the history section and you’ll see no mention of it. The message that greets you is from last year, and the timeline has been updated since last January.

During the anniversary, two more employees were laid-off and the general manager reportedly thanked employees “for making this a difficult year.” A Freudian slip, I’m sure.

In completely unrelated news: The Coaster Project is a showcase of 99 coaster-sized artworks from 99 international artists, and my wife, Lee, is one of those artists. Her show opens tonight in Toronto at the A.W.O.L. Gallery from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. If you’re in the city I invite you to come by and see the “coasters.”
