Living Can Kill You

CBC (r)evolution; whatever:hover; hand-writing fonts

Could the CBC be in for some changes, too? CanWest reported at the end of 2003 that two internal studies found the public broadcaster too stuffy, and suggested a new anchor was needed to attract younger viewers, like, say, me.

Yeah.

Let’s move “The National” to 9 p.m. and get Mansbridge a co-host — oh wait, that’s been tried.

Better yet, just mimic Toronto 1.

Ten years ago, that rejigged National (known as Prime Time News) aired Bill Cameron’s feature on something called “Internet” (via Boing Boing.)

Like :hover and want to use it on more than links? You can now, thanks to Peter Nederlof’s custom-scripted whatever:hover behaviour. A more flexible example was also created by ben@ripcord.co.nz, but he wants US$50 to use the erroneously-named script. (Both via Anne van Kesteren’s blog).

It’s time to toss away that old, leaky pen and thoses slices of a dead tree! Your hand-writing can now be turned into a computer-friendly font for free! (Via Zeldman.)
