The colour of the Tennenbuams
As you can probably tell from the muted tones on this site, combining different colours together is not one of my strengths.
A few weeks ago, I was killing time before seeing The Royal Tennenbuams by browsing in the Chapters at Richmond and John. There I stumbled across this book: Color Harmony for the Web
.
If I ever went into full-time design, it’d be the first thing I’d pick up. Throughout its pages are hundreds of three- and four-colour combinations organized by theme and tone, and all are Web safe.
Those (like me) who are unwilling to shell out for the book can go to Chromoweb to get a wide selection of colour-combinations based on 12 Web-safe colours.
Caveat emptor: While looking for the book, I tried chapters.indigo.ca and gave-up in frustration. Amazon allowed me to find Color Harmony for the Web just be searching by keywords.
Not only that, Amazon can ship the book in 24 hours—as opposed to chapters.indigo.ca’s 5-10 days—for almost $15 cheaper than Canada's own book e-tailer, even after converting Amazon’s price from the greenback to our sagging loonie.
