No consensus on design survey
François Briatte did a survey. What he discovered is that key [W]eb sites agree on implicit, internalized layout and design norms
. In a flurry of coincidental posts, the staff at webgraphics post three different views. The survey, variously:
- is a
very comprehensive and informative survey
; - is
what happens when code-think is applied to design problems
; - uses a
sample data pool [that] is inconsistent and thus the results seem to be inconclusive
.
Personally, I think it’s a great snapshot of what the best practices of today are. Sure they aren’t all designers, but they are all admired, and, in turn, imitated by a large number of Web developers and designers. Excellent work, François.
