Annotated reading list
Between visiting family and friends for fun, feasts, and festivities my inbox and reading lists have been growing quite large. Here’s an annotated list of what’s on the list:
- “CBC plans to chop This Morning” an in-depth article discussing some massive overhauls planned for out national broadcaster this fall. (Thanks to David Elfstorm.)
- Speaking of the CBC, I’ve been watching the new show Zed. If that’s an indication of where its headed, then I welcome the changes.
- One last link to the Mother Corp.: Words: Woe and Wonder is a must bookmark for any fan of English usage in Canadian.
- Joe Clark has some good tips on how best to create and style a printer-friendly page
- rabble.ca, one of the very few Canadian online magazines left turns one this April 18. The site is asking for donations, so if you can spare some change (i.e., you’re not on strike), you should give some to the site.
- Google has definitely achieved super site status à la Yahoo, eBay, and Amazon. The mainstream press has been falling all over Googlewhacking, and it has begun to sniff out “Google Bombing” as evidenced in an in Slate’s excellent overview of the concept. (Thanks to Jeff Kraemer.)
- There’s three other articles on online journalism, three style sheets, and three usability that I’ve not yet read, so in the mean time I’ll point you to the 4,096 colours of the Web
- And in an New York Times article, Glenn “Cool Site of the Day” Davis is claims the funs gone from the Web. In reality, I (and many others) think the excitement is still there, but the wonder has gone. What do you think?
