Wired has done something very few big sites have the balls to do: abandon tables in favour of an all CSS-based layout (that even includes a text resizing widget).

I’ve long been a big fan of these folks, but this is absolutely fantastic.

Following on the heels of Wired’s redesign, Steve Champeon has a piece on Webmonkey about the “secret life of markup.” Oft forgotten is the fact that HTML (et al.) provides the good “bone structure” that makes CSS-enhanced pages so attractive.
