Lasting almost a year, this design was strongly inspired by the Free Style look, but used a cleaner, more robust template.

The CSS-based layout (released to the public in February 2002) was fully standard-compliant, as was the underlying XHTML. The new addition was with the heavy reliance on the W3C’s DOM to let readers customize each page, and personalize the homepage.

This version also saw the elimination of banner ads, and Living Can Kill You grow from its place on the homepage to an almost daily weblog.

In the beginning of 2002, a variety of other CSS templates were released, allow the readers to reskin the site. One of which was based on The Rock’s look.
