Print journalism (newspapers, magazines, and online) is a lot different, and better, than it was even five years ago. The newspaper industry is booming, and will probably start hiring young journalists in greater numbers.

Also, the Internet is beginning to prove itself as a serious medium for doing journalism (a webzine broke “Zippergate”). The advantage for younger journalists is that many of the more experienced journalists currently working today started on typewriters, and aren’t as comfortable with computers and the Internet.
