Tables and CSS

Zeldman’s words carry a lot of weight amongst a large group of Web designers. So when he wrote “To Hell With Old Browsers” sparked a heated debate. While the debate was healthy, it was often wrong-headed, and yesterday he tried to clarify the issue in regards to tables and CSS.

I, for one, am glad he’s taken this step. Although an advocate of CSS, I have long realized the tables can still be a useful foundation for site layouts.

The University of Central England is doing a survey on attitudes to Web usability, and according glasshuas’ Bruce Lawson, it “would be delighted to receive as many different contributions as possible.”

For those who want control over how offsite windows open in this site, take comfort in the fact Joe Clark has encouraged me pull this project off the back burner. No date other than ”soon.“
