Sympatico content choice
Following on the heels of CANOE, Sympatico has reportedly shifted its control of content to Montreal. Unfortunately, that has meant the elimination of the team producing some excellent original content there. BCE has decided, former staffers are saying, that the only content worth appearing on the Sympatico site is advertorial, or paid, content. The value of investing in original content just doesn’t seem to make sense to the money-men. This short-term vision could create serious problems for the long-term viability of Canadian Web sites.
