Contingency design; font sizes
Today is Monday. No doubt about it. In Toronto, the weather is grey and rainy and my level of consciousness hovers just above comatose…
- Matthew Linderman — who works for buzz-makers extraordinaire, 37signals.com — writes a good piece on the importance of contingency design (i.e., when shit happens, make sure it at least looks good);
- Nielsen, high on his hyperbole, comes out swinging (and in the process, jabs Zeldman with a light punch packed with two years of hindsight) as both he and Z. fight the good fight over font sizes;
- My piece on acronyms definitely takes the prescriptivist-approach, but you don’t have to be a descriptivist to appreciate the creation of an American Corpus.
