Living Can Kill You

Email issues; war on terrorism; and who’s phoned?

Lost all email sent to me yesterday thanks to a system-wide crash, so if you sent me a message can you please resend it? Thanks.

And you may not want to use Yahoo’s HTML-based email service (not that you would send HTML-based email).

The more I read about the so-called “War on Terrorism” the more it smacks of a convenient way to implement a whole range of policies open, civil, democracies would normally recoil from. Ironically, when trying to volunteer to spy on one’s neighbo(u)r, an alert appears claiming there is a problem with the site’s security certificate.

How come I’m not surprised The Toronto Sun seems to have been the first to have perpetuated the “half the world had never made a phone call” meme in print.
