Mordecai Richler has died

Mordecai Richler, one of Canada's most opinionated and respected writers, has died from what is believed to be complications related to his cancer. Best known for his book The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, Richler, 70, wrote a total of ten books (three of which were judged as part of the 100 best English-Canadian books) and hundreds of columns, many of which featured his passion for Montreal and Quebec.
